The first baby boomers turn 65 in 2011. Millions are ready for a change, but are asking the question, “What am I going to do after I retire?” Many have already made a change and are asking, “What do I do now?”
When asked, baby boomers will state passionately they want a fulfilling and meaningful retirement. They DO NOT want their parents’ retirement. How do we create a satisfying retirement? The rules have changed. Baby boomers can expect as much as thirty years of retirement. Sailing off into the sunset is no longer the only option.
How do you begin the process of making the transition from earning an income to what’s next? Based on work with clients, and the latest research by psychologists, we will explore the major components of creating a life beyond roles, rules and work. The key is not in having a plan, but understanding how to engage in the planning process.

About Cathy
Cathy Severson has her master’s in career counseling and has been helping people find purpose in their work and life for twenty-five years. She is the creator of the VISTa Life/Career Cards, a counseling tool used by career professionals and therapists around the world.
